The Turkish teenager has emerged as a fine prospect after some superb performances for Trabzonspor
Leicester City have stepped up their interest in Tottenham target Abdulkadir Omur by submitting an offer for the young midfielder.
Omur, a Turkey Under-21 international, has attracted the attention of clubs from across Europe following an impressive season for hometown club Trabzonspor.
Both Spurs and Benfica have been tracking the 19-year-old for some time, while Leicester are said to have recently joined the race as well.
And now, according to Turkish news outlet Fotomac, the Foxes are looking to steal a march by making the first serious move for Omur.
Claude Puel’s side are believed to have submitted a formal offer for the central midfielder as they look to complete their fourth signing of the summer after Jonny Evans and Ricardo Pereira, the defenders, and attacking midfielder James Maddison arrived at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester have money to spend following the £60million sale of Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City, and Omur has been tipped to be one of several new additions to arrive at the club this summer before the transfer window closes next month.
