The former Liverpool star plays alongside Willian for Brazil
Philippe Coutinho has been trying to convince Chelsea ace Willian to leave Stamford Bridge and join Barcelona this summer.
Willian, the forward, has been linked with a move to Camp Nou since the end of last season as it appears he is no longer happy in west London.
Though much of his frustration seemed to be aimed at former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, the suggestions Willian will leave in the coming weeks have remained since Maurizio Sarri’s appointment as the club’s new head coach.
Barcelona are reported to have already made a bid for the 29-year-old, who has spent the last five seasons at Stamford Bridge, and now they have made a sly move to convince Willian to swap England for Spain.
According to Sport, former Liverpool star Coutinho has been talking to Willian about joining him at Camp Nou, with the pair having spent a month of the summer together while part of the Brazil squad at the World Cup.
It is stated that they held several conversations over Willian potentially moving to Barcelona, and the former Shakhtar star is said to be open to the switch.
Furthermore, Coutinho has also helped facilitate a move for Willian by changing his nationality to Portuguese to open up a non-EU spot in Barcelona’s squad which the current Chelsea man can take.
