The Red Devils are said to be looking at signing the Brazil forward this summer
Manchester United are prepared to pay Chelsea’s asking price for Willian as they look to sign the forward this summer.
Willian, the Brazil international, has been a long-term target of United’s, with the Old Trafford club’s manager, Jose Mourinho, hoping to reunite with a player he worked with while the Portuguese was still in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Barcelona have also been hoping to sign Willian this summer – and have had three bids rejected by Chelsea – but they appear to have pulled the plug on their interest by swooping for Malcom, the Bordeaux winger, on Monday evening.
This has handed United a free run at Willian, and talkSPORT told you earlier today that the Red Devils ‘can and want’ to pay the £62million fee Chelsea have set as the forward’s asking price.
This has not gone down particularly well on social media, with United fans believing a move for Willian, who turns 30 next month, is hardly wise.
