Mark Bosnich believes Manchester United can win the title this season if they get Ivan Perisic.
The Croatian has been a long-term target for United and their interest will have only grown stronger after an incredible World Cup.
Perisic scored in both the semi-final and the final as his country ended the tournament runners-up to France.
Bosnich, a former Red Devils goalkeeper, suggests that while Jose Mourinho’s side are in good shape to challenge for the league, signing the Inter Milan winger could hold the key.
He told talkSPORT: “I would say they need one more player. I would love to see them go and get Perisic.
“They tried very hard last year to get him from Inter Milan. I think he would be an absolutely fantastic addition to the squad.
“I still think they do have the players there that can go on and win the title. They’re not as far away as a lot of people are making out.
“If they get off to a decent start, I really think that they can go close to winning the title with the current squad that they have. But I would love to see them go and get Perisic.”
Another World Cup star, Leicester’s Harry Maguire, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford and Bosnich says the club should pounce on any opportunity to sign the Englishman.
He added: “Maguire was absolutely fantastic at the World Cup. Prices come down to supply and demand. If they have to pay that price (£75m), they have to pay that price.
“There will be other options that they’re looking at, but he’s definitely one of those options. And if they do have the opportunity to sign him, I would sign him after what I saw in Russia.”
