Chelsea are set to keep superstar Eden Hazard with Real Madrid ready to end their interest in the player and place their faith in Isco, according to AS.

The Spanish side were heavily linked with the Belgian winger this summer but the Blues put a £200million price tag on his head and are considering handing him the captain’s armband.

And this appears to have finally deterred Los Blancos who are now going to allow Isco to assume more responsibility in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was sold to Juventus.

Marco Asensio will be another big winner should Hazard stay at Chelsea with new Real boss Julen Lopetegui a huge fan, which should see him get more minutes at the Bernabeu this season.

Hazard himself had fuelled speculation he could move clubs and during the World Cup he said: “After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different.

“Certainly, after this World Cup, I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will have the final decision. You know my preferred destination.”

But now he seems set to remain at Stamford Bridge with a colossal £200million deal too complicated to finalise in just two weeks.
