But Sane, who was awarded the PFA Young Player of the Year as the Blues stormed to the Premier League title last season, will not even ben on the bench with the rest of his team-mates.
According to reports, Guardiola has dropped the German starlet due to his ‘poor attitude’ in training.
The 22-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game this season, and has played just 30 minutes of action across City’s opening three games.
The news of Sane’s axe from the Man City squad comes just a week after he was recalled to the Germany national team, having been left out of Joachim Low’s squad for the World Cup this summer.
Free to make as many changes as he likes given the depth of his squad, Guardiola has made three changes to the team that drew 1-1 with Wolves last weekend.
In come John Stones, Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus, with Vincent Kompany, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva take a spot on the bench.
Meanwhile, Newcastle boss Benitez has named a changed team, with Ayoze Perez earning a starting place thanks to his goal in the defeat to Chelsea last weekend.
He is one of three changes, with Kenedy also back in the team as well as captain Jamaal Lascelles.
Lascelles returns amid claims he was involved in a ‘bust-up’ with his manager and team-mate Matt Ritchie, who has dropped to the bench.
