Unai Emery has listened to fans who have been calling for the attacking pair to be selected together
Arsenal fans are delighted they have finally got their wish with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette starting together for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Cardiff.
The match, which is LIVE on talkSPORT, sees the attacking pair start a match together for the first time this season, with Unai Emery, the Arsenal manager, previously preferring to start Aubameyang and name Lacazette among the substitutes.
The latter has made it off the bench in all three of Arsenal’s matches so far, and the Gunners have looked much more effective when both strikers have been on the pitch at the same time.
Since the opening day of the season Arsenal supporters have been calling for Emery to select a team with both Lacazette and Aubameyang starting, and it appears the manager has finally listened to the public’s calls.
Both have been named in the starting XI for the trip to relegation favourites Cardiff, with Arsenal hoping to secure their second win of the season in Wales.
Cardiff have lost one and drawn their other two matches this term, though they are still without a goal to their name.
Arsenal are clear favourites heading into the match, and fans of the north London club reacted on Twitter to Emery’s brilliant tactical decision which could see the Gunners run riot against the Bluebirds.
