The German appeared to make a political gesture after his goal
Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi will not be punished for his goal celebration against Cardiff on Sunday.
The 26-year-old opened the scoring in his side’s 3-2 win in Wales and celebrated his goal by crossing his hands to make what appeared to be an Albanian Eagle sign.
It is believed he did so in solidarity with his teammate Granit Xhaka, who performed the celebration at the World Cup after receiving criticism for his views about his family’s origins.
Xhaka was fined for making the sign against Serbia at the World Cup, due to heightened political tensions between Serbia and Albania.
However, the FA opted not to discipline Mustafi in any way for his celebration against Cardiff.
