The Argentine has signed a deal keeping him at the club until 2021 which if he sees out the deal, will have made him a Manchester City player for ten years
Manchester City fans far and wide would have rejoiced at the news that Sergio Aguero has agreed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2021.
If he sees out the deal this means he will have been at the club for ten years, so we had a look at the incredible numbers behind his excellent career at the club just to appreciate how good he really is.
The striker achieved the feat as leading Manchester City goalscorer in November 2017 and he’s kicked on since. Is Aguero the club’s greatest ever player?
This is Aguero’s eighth season at Manchester City so 146 goals for City is a decent return when you also consider the Argentine has had 13 injuries as a City player.
They have not been big injuries but they will have disrupted his campaigns. Harry Kane is second on that list with 110 and it remains to be seen whether he will do it as quickly as Aguero.
If you’re sharing a goalscoring record with the great Alan Shearer then you’re doing well!
And with three years left on his contract at City, there’s every chance Aguero will get the most hat-tricks for a single Premier League club.
This stat speaks for itself. 146 goals and 37 assists in seven and a bit seasons at Manchester City.
Not only is he a club legend, he is a Premier League legend.
