The 18-year-old hobbled off to be replaced by Andy King at the Principality Stadium
Chelsea starlet Ethan Ampadu was forced off with an injury in Wales’ friendly against Spain.
The midfielder fell awkwardly in a challenge and was subsequently replaced by Andy King on 50 minutes.
Blues team-mates Alvaro Morata and Cesar Azpilicueta were quick to check on the teenager and looked visibly concerned.
Ampadu, 18, has impressed for Wales this season, particularly in the 4-1 victory over Ireland last month.
Ryan Giggs will be fearful of losing Ampadu for the competitive clash against the Irish on Tuesday, where the Welsh can keep their hopes of Nations League promotion alive.
Wales will enter that game on the back of a thumping 4-1 defeat to Spain at the Principality Stadium.
Two goals from Dortmund forward Paco Alcacer, a contentious Sergio Ramos header and another header from Marc Bartra gave Spain a comfortable lead, before Sam Vokes pulled back a consolation for the hosts late on.
Despite the Welsh being dominated on the night, Ampadu held his own against the gifted Spanish midfield until his premature departure.
He has struggled to break into the Chelsea team under Maurizio Sarri this season, with the impressive reinforcements of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic establishing themselves midfield.
