The defender suffered a ruptured Achilles back in May during the Europa League semi-final
Laurent Koscielny has returned to first team training to give Arsenal boss Unai Emery a welcome boost.
The Spaniard is currently preparing his side to face Leicester City and Sporting Lisbon in a huge week for the north London outfit.
With important game coming thick and fast, the return of Koscielny will be greatly appreciated, especially given the 33-year-old is ahead of schedule.
Back in May, the France international ruptured his Achilles during the Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.
Such was the severity, he missed out on a place in Didier Deschamp’s World Cup winning squad in Russia.
However, he is not expected to be rushed back into action straight away so as to not aggravate the injury again.
Speaking on Friday, the Gunners boss said: “I think we need also to give confidence to him, to be close with us, because it was a big injury.
“But now he is getting better, he is training with us in some things and this is very positive.
”We need to be calm with him. Calm because we need after more than a month, [him to] feel first he is doing some things well, and then when he can play and do games in the training, we can think he is OK to play.”
