One of Sarri’s priorities this month is to bring a new centre-forward to Stamford Bridge, and it appears Paris Saint-Germain star Cavani is a target.
According to the Express, Chelsea are ‘lining up a dramatic £50million bid’ for Cavani as Sarri attempts to solve the club’s goal scoring problems.
Cavani has scored 262 goals for PSG since joining in 2013, and he is also interesting clubs in China.
As well as Cavani, Chelsea have also been linked with Gonzalo Higuain – with interest in the Argentina forward emerging prior to the start of the season.
Sarri reportedly wanted to reunite with a player who performed so well when the pair worked together at Napoli, but ended up missing out on Higuain as he joined Milan on loan from Juventus.
However, The Sun say Chelsea are set to capture Higuain this month, with Alvaro Morata joining Milan in exchange for the Argentine.
It is expected Higuain will join Chelsea on a loan basis until the end of the season, with the Blues having the option of making the deal permanent in the summer.
Chelsea have also been linked with a surprising move for Wilson, the Bournemouth and England forward, but it appears they will not secure his signature this month.
Despite rumours of a potential £30million bid for Wilson, Bournemouth have no intention of cashing in on their star striker.
According to the Mirror, the Cherries will refuse all offers submitted for the 26-year-old, as they don’t want to sell – and don’t need to.
Despite signing Nathaniel Clyne on loan and bringing Dominic Solanke in from Liverpool for £19million, Jermain Defoe’s impending loan to Rangers means Bournemouth are not struggling financially.
Cesc Fabregas looks set to complete a move away from Chelsea in the next few days, in what is sure to end his career in English football.
The Spain midfielder, 31, was reduced to tears as he was substituted off during Chelsea’s FA Cup third round defeat of Nottingham Forest, with it expected to be his final appearance for the Blues.
He is close to agreeing a deal with Monaco, and is to fly out to the Principality next week to sign terms with the Ligue 1 club.
